Show your Light is an interactive, immersive installation that explores the interplay between individuality and collective harmony. Each participant becomes an integral part of the experience, using a torch (or their smartphone flashlight) to participate with their unique presence and leave a lasting impact on the collective display.
Through this interaction, the installation conveys its concept narrative: while each of us possesses a unique “light,” we are ultimately part of a larger system. When we harmonize with the collective, our contribution enriches the whole, creating something far greater and lasting than the sum of its individual parts.
The installation begins with a moving particle system, symbolizing a collective environment. Participants are invited to “show your light” by pointing their flashlight at the wall, triggering a bright, pulsing orb that follows their movements. For 10 seconds, the orb represents the participant’s energy and individuality. After this, the orb "blooms" and merges with the central particle system, becoming part of the collective. As more participants interact, the system grows, symbolizing the power of collaboration. Over a multi-day exhibition, the installation evolves, with the particle system expanding and becoming more complex, reflecting the cumulative contributions of all participants and showcasing the collective impact of individual participation.
